Protests by Abuja indigenous grounds N'Assembly
The main entrance leading to the National Assembly was on Thursday grounded by protesting Abuja indigenous inhabitants.
The protesters took over the entrance and exit point causing serious traffic gridlock.
Lawmakers and staff of the National Assembly who were trapped, abandoned their vehicles, resorting to trekking in order to beat the long queue of vehicles.

Others who were unwilling to trek, joined another route leading to the complex through the Office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation.
The protesters called on the Senate to prevail on the Nigerian Army to relinquish lands illegally seized from some of the farmers who are original inhabitants of the territory.
As at the time of filing in this report, Armed police and other security agents had been mobilized to forestall any possible breakdown of law and order.
