Shehu Sani says Buhari’s govt is deceitful about restructuring

The Kaduna State chapter of Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has rejected the ruling at the tribunal against it Kaduna Central senatorial candidate, Shehu Sani.

The party described the ruling of the State and National Assembly Tribunal on the petition by its candidate as “judicial coronation of fraud” and vowed to appeal it.

Shehu Sani had gone to the tribunal to challenge the outcome of the February 2019 National Assembly poll won by Senator Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

But in its judgment on the petition on Wednesday, the tribunal chaired by Justice A. H. Suleiman, dismissed the petition by Shehu Sani for lack of merit.

However, in a statement on Thursday by Kaduna PRP chairman, Abdulrahaman Dannirn, he said the ruling would not stand.

According to him, “The tribunal failed to grant our (PRP) request for a recount of the votes.

“The tribunal didn’t inform the legal counsel of our candidate, Senator Shehu Sani of the date of the ruling.”

Shehu Sani, who was APC Kaduna Central senator at the 8th Senate, had ran to PRP after he lost APC ticket to Uba Sani.

He was again, defeated by Uba Sani during the February 19 National Assembly elections. He thereafter, ran to the tribunal to challenge the defeat.
