My PSG move not motivated by money -Neymar

World’s most expensive footballer, Neymar, has said his move to Ligue 1 giants, Paris St Germain, was not motivated by money.

The Brazil international said this at his official unveiling in a news conference on Friday after completing a world-record £200m transfer from La Liga side, Barcelona.

“What I say to these people is they don’t know anything about my personal life. I was never motivated by money,” he said when asked if his decision to join his new side at Parc des Princes was motivated by money.

“If I was following the money, I would be somewhere else, with other clubs in other countries. I’m really sad that people still think that way and I’m glad that PSG believe in me.”

The deal for the 25-year-old smashes the previous record set by Paul Pogba when he joined Manchester United from Juventus for £89m in August 2016.

Neymar, who has been handed the No. 10 shirt, will be introduced to fans on Saturday in the club’s first game of the season against Amiens at Parc des Princes.
