The Taraba State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Innocent Vakai, said on Saturday one Mrs. Hanatu Idris had escaped from the state quarantine centre in Jalingo.

Vakai, who disclosed this to journalists in Jalingo, urged the public to alert members of the committee or security agencies wherever Idris was sighted.

He said the woman, who hails from Borno, was among the 130 travelers who were intercepted by security operatives at the Taraba borders and quarantined.

Vakai, who is also the Chairman of Taraba COVID-19 Technical Committee, said the state government had purchased two ventilators for patients.

According to him, this was in addition to the one given to the state by the North East Development Commission (NEDC), bringing the number of ventilators in the state to three.
