Three state governors under the aegis of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) met with President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday behind closed doors.

At the end of the meeting, they refused to speak, or give any hint of what they discussed with the president.
The three governors, Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State and Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State, had arrived at the Presidential Villa, Abuja earlier in the day.

They were immediately led in to see the president by Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, who also excoted them out after the end of the secret meeting.

Though there was no official reason for the meeting, speculations are rife that it may not be unconnected to the declaration by New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) in the APC.

The aggrieved members had on Wednesday announced a split with the APC and declared themselves as Reformed All Progressives Congress ( R-APC).

It is believed this may have shaken the president’s calculations for re-election in 2019.

When state House correspondents approached the governor’s for their comment, two of them directed the newsmen to the Chairman of Governors Forum, Alhaji Yari.

But Yari, simply stated that it was a private visit.
