R Kelly released on bail over sexual abuse charges

Embattled R&B singer R Kelly has been released on bail days after he surrendered to Chicago police Chicago over charges of sexual abuse of 4 girls, 3 of whom were minors.

The singer was released from jail after posting his $100,000 (£76,000) bail, a Cook County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said.

Earlier on Monday the 52-year-old pleaded not guilty to 10 charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against four women, three of whom were minors at the time.

R Kelly has been hit with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual and 9 of the 10 counts involve alleged victims ranging in age from 13 to 16 years old by prosecutors in Chicago.

There are said to be 4 alleged victims in total, and one of them is the subject of 4 different counts.
The singer’s indictment follows a new videotape provided by a ‘whistleblower’ which shows Kelly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

The tape, viewed by CNN, reportedly shows Kelly performing multiple sex acts with a girl.
