Spanish tennis superstar and world number one, Rafael Nadal, will play Australian Nick Kyrgios in the China Open final on Sunday.

Nadal, who is chasing a sixth title this season, defeated Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 6-3 4-6 6-1 in a semifinal clash on Saturday to advance to the last two of the competition.

World number eight Dimitrov battled back from a set down to force a decider, but lost his way as 31-year-old Nadal broke three times to set up a final against Kyrgios.

22-year-old Kyrgios easily saw off German new sensation, Alexander Zverev, 6-3 7-5 to seal his place at the final.

Kyrgios knocked Nadal out of the Cincinnati Masters earlier this year in the quarter-finals. But Nadal has won both the French Open and the US Open this season.

Meanwhile, Zverev is the only player alongside Nadal and Roger Federer to have qualified for November’s ATP Tour Finals in London.
