Rangers move out of relegation zone as Rivers Utd nail Remo Stars

Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Enugu Rangers, have climbed to 19th place on the table following an impressive 3-2 home win against Wikki Tourist in a rescheduled league match on Wednesday.

The win, a second in a row for the Enugu side that have been faced with many challenges since the start of the season, takes them to 19 points with three games in hand.

It was Bobby Clement who put the home side ahead in the 12th minute when he rose highest to head in Bright Silas’ cross.

Ifeanyi George doubled the lead from the spot in the 40th minute after a hand ball by Abdullahi Musa inside his box.

Wikki made it 2-1 11 minutes later when Samuel Chukwudi converted from the spot after Pape committed a foul in his own box.

Rangers restored their two-goal advantage as Ousmane Pape nodded in Ugwu Uwadiegwu’s corner to make it 3-1, before Wikki’s Shammah Tanze got on to Victor Alegbe’s pass to bring the score at 3-2 in the 79th minute.
