Red Cross rescues young girl from Abule-Ado explosion site

Officials of the Nigerian Red Cross have rescued a young girl identified as Favour, from the Abule-Ado site explosion that happened on Sunday in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area, Lagos State.

While speaking with newsmen on Monday, chairman of Nigeria Red Cross Society (NRCS) Lagos branch, Adebola Kolawole explained how Favour was rescued.

She said the young girl was found amidst the rubbles during rescue operations on Sunday night.

She further disclosed that Favour’s mother sustained a head injury from the incident and her brother too was injured.

However, Favour ’s mother who is in semi-coma state gestured to the officials that Favour was her daughter.

Meanwhile, she regained consciousness on Monday morning and asked for her daughter, she added.

Mrs. Kolawale promised that Favour will soon be reunited with her family and that her rescue brought relief to many at the scene as emergency operations continue.
