Reekado Banks’ manager sent to jail over N2m performance fee mess

Temi Solomon, the manager of Mavin Records artiste Reekado Banks (real name Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon) was arraigned before a court in Ikeja yesterday.

He was accused of obtaining the sum of N2 million on behalf of his artiste as fee for a performance, but his artiste failed to show up.
The presiding judge after listening to the charges by the prosecutor ordered that Temi be remanded at the Kirirkiri Maximum Prison pending further hearing and adjourned the case until the 19th of February 2018.‎

Reports say the matter was brought to the notice of the police by a certain Uwa Igbinedion who reportedly facilitated the payment for Reekado Banks to perform at a wedding in Benin City on the 23rd of December, 2017 but the artiste failed to show up at the occasion.

According to reports, Reekado Banks was invited to the Ogba Area G police station, regarding the case after a complaint was lodged by Uwa Igbinedion who said the artiste and his team refused to refund the money, saying he incurred “logistical costs” – despite not honouring the deal.

However, the claims made by Uwa Igbinedion were denied by Temi moments before his trail.

“All the allegations are not true; I will rather let the matter remain as it is. When the right time comes, we will let the public know what transpired between both parties,” Temi said when probed.

Reports also suggest that Reekado Banks is at large following the trial and eventual detention of his manager over his failure to honour the performance which was paid for.
