A Former House of Reps. Candidate and National Chairman, United Registered Political Parties (URPP) Comrade Michael Obasuyi, has asked the Governor of Edo State; Mr. Godwin Obaseki to re-open the long abandoned Central Hospital, Benin.

He made this call in Benin City recently while addressing a cross section of Medical Officers and Members of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Edo State Chapter when they paid him a courtesy call.

He alleged that the Central Hospital appears in the state Budget yearly presented to the State House of Assembly, while nothing is done there.

His Words” Governor Obaseki should stop playing politics with Central Hospital. Some years ago, President Buhari came to Edo State to commission ‘A state of the art Central Hospital’, of which after he left, the whole place was shut down.

“I would not want to battle the state nor further expose the corruption that has transpired, or Edo people will shout. I know once it’s near 2020 Governorship Elections, they will try to put that place in order, but it will be too late, because it’s all propaganda”.

He further stated that any government that can not provide quality healthcare for its people is not fit to be a government and must be removed by democratic means.

Highpoint of the visit was a recitation of the Hippocratic Oath, which served as reminder for Selfless Service Doctors render to Humanity.
