Reps issue 4-point declaration on NFF crisis

The House of Representatives on Friday threw its weight behind the Amaju Pinnick-led Nigeria Football Federation board while warning controversial club owner, Chris Giwa, to stop parading himself as factional NFF President.

The Honourable members after meeting with both parties on two separate occasions gave their blessings to Pinnick.

After their deliberation in Abuja on Friday, the Reps issued a 4-point declaration stating that:

1. The Minister of Youth and Sports Development and the Federal Government of Nigeria shall continue to recognise, work and support the NFF under Mr Amaju Pinnick’s Presidency.

3. Both the Federal Government and security operatives shall call Mr Chris Giwa and his group to order to ensure that Nigerian football does not continue to suffer and or incur the wrath of FIFA.

4. IG and other security agencies shall ensure that whoever creates problems in NFF or Nigeria’s football shall be apprehended and prosecuted accordingly.”
