Reps support Buhari, reject Peace Corps Bill
The House of Representatives on Thursday landed a heavy blow on the Peace Corps Bill.
The rejection of the bill which seeks to turn the Corps into a government para-military agency, may have dashed the hope of those hoping that the lawmakers may overide President Muhammadu Buhari’s veto on the bill.
The bill was sponsored by a member of the House from Benue, Emmanuel Orker-Jev.
However, members during the House session on Thursday in Abuja voted against the second reading of the bill.

The National Assembly had earlier passed the bill but it was rejected by the President based on security concerns and the financial burden it will create on the Federal Government.
