The committee is investigating the crude oil swap contracts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation totaling $24 billion and had questioned three former managing directors of the NNPC,  including Mr. Austin Oniwon, Mr. Andrew Yakubu and Mr. Joseph Dawha.

Also invited alongside Alison-Madueke, was the former managing director of Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, PPMC, Mr Haruna Momoh, who also failed to appear.

Chairman of the committee, Hon. Zakari Mohammed, who became visibly angry when he realised that the invitees were absent said the committee would take the “appropriate steps” to address the absence of the former minister, but he did not elaborate on the nature of the steps.

Mohammed said: “Anybody who knows the former minister and Momoh should tell them that they are daring the parliament and we will take the appropriate measures against them.”
