Reps to address non-implementation of Tinubu’s directive on IPPIS
The House of Representatives on Wednesday vowed to address the non-implementation of presidential directives on the removal of universities and other tertiary institutions from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).
The Chairman of the House Committee on University Education, Abubakar Fulata, stated this when the committee met with the conference of the Vice Chancellor in Abuja.
He said the committee was determined to tackle any issue that would affect the smooth running of the universities across the country.
The chairman noted that President Bola Tinubu had listened to the lawmakers and approved the removal of universities and other tertiary institutions from IPPIS.

He said the president also reconstituted the councils and boards for higher institutions as well as recently approved a 50 percent subsidy on electricity tariff for hospitals and tertiary institutions.
Fulata expressed optimism that the issue of non-implementation of the president’s directive on IPPIS would be addressed.
He noted that it took the vice-chancellor of a university to go through about seven Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) under the IPPIS platform before even a cleaner could be employed.
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on July 12 directed that the nation’s university system be expeditiously removed from the IPPIS platform.
