Again, Gov Wike raises the alarm, says IGP Idris wants to raid his Abuja house

The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday named Justice Monima Danagogo as the head of the commission of inquiry into killings recorded during the March 19 rerun elections in the state.

At the inauguration of the commission in Port Harcourt, Governor Wike expressed concern over reported killings during the exercise, urging the commission to dig up every detail on the incidents.

The governor also mandated the commission to determine the extent of damages recorded in terms of property and other valuables during the re-run elections. The commission has one month to submit its report.

Wike said: “The commission has one month, beginning today, to submit its report. We must

know those involved in the killings. We must get to the root of the violence during the March 19 re-run elections. Since we were not at the location of the violence, we rely on the Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate what took place.”
