Resign now and let Nigeria move ahead, BBOG convener tells Buhari (Video)

A convener of the BringBackOurGirls advocacy group, Aisha Yesufu has called on ailing President Muhammadu Buhari to resign.

She lamented in a two minute video posted on social media that Nigeria is being held to ransom over the ill health of the president.

According to her, it is not right for things to be at a standstill in the country because the president is sick and unable to perform his constitutional duties.

She also called on the National Assembly to move to remove the president who has been in London on a medical vacation.

She said, “When are we going to realise that this Acting President (arrangement) is really not just working out? Things are stagnant in Nigeria. For crying out loud, the President is sick, the President is not capable of discharging his duties as President. Why can’t he resign?

“Sickness can happen to anybody; nobody is wishing the President bad. The fact that he is sick does not mean he is going to die today or tomorrow; even someone who is as healthy as I am can drop dead. That is life.

“But for crying out loud, for how long are we going to wait and keep watching everything go into disarray? Who is going to sign the budget? We don’t know. The report on Babachir Lawal (SGF), what is happening to it? Why are we being held to ransom?”

She also lamented that the probe into the activities of some indicted officer was stalled because the president is away, and the acting president cannot take a decision on the matter.

She sited the probe of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal as an example and wondered what was happening.

Yesufu also said, “It’s not about you, Mr President. Can you just take some time off to take care of yourself? May God give you good health, may God have mercy on you. What you are going through is from God and people go through it in different ways, but please, Mr. President, do not allow this to keep the rest of us in bondage.

“And for us Nigerians, it is time we woke up. The Acting President cannot do anything because he wants to be seen as a good man. We need to take our country back. Let the President resign and if he cannot resign, let the National Assembly do the right thing and let us have another President.

“It is not about President Muhammadu Buhari, it’s about Nigeria and right now, Nigeria is suffering and we cannot continue to allow this. Please, we have a lot of people who are supposed to be sacked but they cannot be sacked”, she lamented.

Yesufu should better stop ranting like radio that no one is paying attention to. Buhari’s is just going to be sick for a while, once he’s back he’d get back to work.

I still don’t understand this woman’s problem? Is she part of those who don’t want Osinbajo to be the acting president or she only has natural hatred for the innocent man?

For the betterment of the country, Mr Preaident should resign, so Osinbajo can focus without having to depend on the ailing president’s orders. He cannot be on sick be doing in London and be controlling Nigeria, we need Osinbajo to take over fully.

A typical African don’t quit power because they see power as something hereditary, and should die in it, if it were to be in the European countries, such person would have quitted because it’s even humiliating his own personality. One person can’t continue to hold the progress of 180m people. We don’t hate you Buhari, but sickness has ruled you out. Leave power honourably now

You are enemy of progress, but don’t worry because insha Allah. Baba Buhari will be back soon hale and hearty without no cause to go on medical vacation again. He’s the one for now Allah has ordained to make Nigeria great
