#RevolutionNow: Journalists protest arrest of colleagues in Cross Rivers

Journalists in Cross Rivers state on Monday evening embarked on protests over their colleagues that were arrested by the police at the venue of Revolution Now protest.

The arrested journalists are Nicholas Kalu of The Nation newspaper and two other bloggers that work with crossriverswatch.

The journalists were reportedly arrested in the early hours of Monday at the cultural centre, the purported venue of the RevolutionNow protest.

It was gathered that the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Cross River State Council, Comrade Victor Udu, and other senior members of the union had made frantic efforts to secure the release of the detained journalist but the efforts yielded no positive results.
