FourFiveSeconds gets the young and old inspired
The video of “FourFiveSeconds” the first single from Rihanna’s upcoming new album is currently enjoying a lot of attention, especially from elderly citizens, and the younger generation.
The song recorded by Barbadian singer Rihanna, American rapper Kanye West and English musician Paul McCartney for Rihanna’s upcoming eighth studio album, was written and produced by West, McCartney, and a host of other people.
The somewhat simple video, only features the three individuals with McCartney stringing a guitar.
“FourFiveSeconds” is a pop and soul pop song with country and folk music influences and an instrumentation consisting of an acoustic guitar, organ and cello.
“FourFiveSeconds” received critical acclaim from music critics, who praised Rihanna’s and West’s new direction, their vocals, and the song’s minimalistic production. Upon its release, it peaked at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart; goving Rihanna her twenty sixth top-ten on the chart while McCartney made a record by ending the longest break between top-ten songs on the chart.
The song also peaked at number one on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Internationally, the song reached number one in Australia, Denmark, New Zealand and Sweden and reached the top five in Canada, France, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
