Rivalry, backstabbing, enmity, 'fakeness' becoming a legacy in Nollywood --Comedian AY

Ace comedian cum movie producer Ayo Makun who goes by the stage name AY is of the opinion that rivalry and the urge to live a fake life are some of the characteristics plaguing the movie industry at the moment.

The humour merchant revealed that much in response to a comment made on Instagram by actor Kevin Ikeduba who said he had seen the good, the bad and the ugly as an actor in the industry.

In particular reference to a part in the comment where Kevin Ikeduba said he had “experienced all sorts from the stables of the high and mighty self entitled ‘stakeholders’, to the very insecure individuals whose only claim to fame is an old testament of fact “We started the industry”, AY replied saying rivalry and living a fake life among others are norms in the movie industry.

AY wrote in response; “The above post by @kevinikeduba, has given me the courage to further introduce you to our Nollywood. So welcome to an industry where rivalry and fakeness is fast becoming a legacy designed for posterity.

“Welcome to a backstabbing community where some pretend to love you in the open and condemn all your determination and efforts to succeed when you are not there. Welcome to an industry where enmity reigns supreme,” he added in part.

It will interest you to know that AY is pioneering the shooting of an animated movie which is in the works he has successfully produced blockbuster Nollywood flicks such as A Trip to Jamaica, 30 Days in Atlanta, 10 Days in Sun City and his latest production Merry Men: “The Yoruba Demons”.
