Rivers APC chieftain beheaded, family slaughtered

The mounting violence in Rivers State seems to be taking another dimension as gunmen on Sunday beheaded one Franklin Obi, a ward chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He was killed in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State alongside his wife, Iheoma, and 18-year-old son, Bestman, at their residence in Omoku at about 9pm on Saturday.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Musa Kimo, who expressed regret over the incident, called for collaboration between communities and the Police to wipe out miscreants and hoodlums from the state.

He regretted that the Police was not contacted while the assailants were present perpetrating their evil acts.

“Probably if they called the Police the killers could have been arrested. At least they were there for about twenty minutes before they left”

Little Victory, told Mr Kimo that she saw the gunmen beheading her father that black night.
