Rivers Police Commissioner dies abroad

The commissioner of police for Rivers State, Francis Odesanya is dead.

Though details are presently scanty, he reportedly died Tuesday morning in an hospital outside the country.

He was posted to the state on July 12, 2016, taking over from Foluso Adebanjo as the 37th Rivers State Commissioner of Police.

Odesanya joined the Nigeria Police Force on February 2, 1986, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and rose through the ranks to his current position of Commissioner of Police.

Recall that the late police boss had altercations with the Rivers State governor, who alleged that Odesanya was planning to rig the recently held RERUN elections in the state in collaboration with the APC.
Denying the allegation, the CP had said, “My position is this: I am going to be neutral, I am going to be non-partisan, I am going to be neutral and everybody will have a level-playing field. I am planning how to make election free and fair, but he (governor) is distracting me with all these; The governor is saying he has a clip where I was discussing with the APC on how to rig the election. Election is barely two weeks; if he has a clip, why is he saying it? Let him release it now”.

Odesanya had also recently attracted the wrath of Police authorities which said it was going to sanction him for his role in the foiled arrest of a judge of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt by Rivers state governor, Nyesome Wike.

Recall that Wike had blocked the arrest of the Judge by operatives of the DSS in the early hours.

Just imagine, he died abroad. If he had died in Nigeria, people would have said Nigerian hospitals are below standard. Anyway, may he RIP!

Can we see that , it is wrong for us to condemn buhari seeking medical attention in London if a commisioner of police can not receive treatment in Nigeria.
      RIP .

“Odesanya had also recently attracted the wrath of Police authorities which said it was going to sanction him for his role in the foiled arrest of a judge of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt by Rivers state governor, Nyesome Wike,” with the scanty details, don’t be surprised if he was murdered where he died. It must be politically connected

His death is not politically motivated at all , he suffered an ailment for long because I remembered he traveled out june last year for medical checks.

So what are you trying to say that police man can not die politically motivated. You better think before you write. As for me such a thing can happen

For his death to have made the news, there must be some political involvement to it. Rivers State government must look into it, for the purpose of justice.
