RIVERS: Police parade 18 suspected kidnappers, 22 robbers, 30 cultists

A group of criminals comprising 18 suspected kidnappers 22 armed robbers and 30 cult members were paraded at the premises of the Rivers State Police Command on Friday.

The suspects were put on exhibition by the Commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed who revealed that about 11 victims were freed when the kidnappers who are notorious for operating in some local government areas of the state.

The CP said that among the arrested was the gang that had been terrorizing Emohua, Ahoada and Ikwerre local government areas of Rivers state.

He revealed that the criminals were apprehended by the police between July 1 and August 10 while also attributing their capture to the command’s aggressive war against kidnappers and other criminal elements in the state.

Ahmed disclosed that among the kidnappers were those who abducted a traditional ruler in Okporo Mini, seven and five year’s old boys in Ozuoba and Oyigbo respectively, in Obio/Akpor and Oyigbo Local Government areas of the state.

He also informed that the criminals will be charged to court in due time but not after investigations into their matter were concluded.

      The criminals in Lagos are more advanced than the ones in Rivers, the Lagos police are doing well too but they need better intelligence.

    I need to commend our Nigerian police for good job they are doing in this dispensation. I salute their courage, the only thing is that the bad eggs in the force must be flushed out

      It’s not possible not to have a bad egg or bad eggs in all fields of life. So no matter what, bad police officers will always be there

    Almost all the criminals in Nigeria reside in rivers, the state is full of criminals and the state governor is in fact doing a great job with the Nigeria police, just that they need to he totally eradicated.

    Crime rates have increased in recent times because there’s no job and no money, the only thing fetching people money is crime. The government need to save Nigerians and provide more jobs to the ones created. People won’t have to turn to criminal acts if they have jobs
