Rivers Rerun: PDP increases lead as INEC releases more results
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has released more results from the Rivers rerun elections.
The results released on Tuesday were earlier suspended by INEC, in the wake of the widespread violence and controversies that trailed the March 19 exercise in the state.
According to a statement by the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Aniedi Ikoiwak, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, still maintained its wide lead, as it won the Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 1, Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2 , Obio/Akpor, and Abua Odua, Ahoada East federal constituencies.

At the state constituency level, the PDP won Port Harcourt constituency II, Ahoada East I, Ahoada East II, Akuku Toru I, Emohua, Obio/Akpor I, Obio/Akpor II, ONELGA I and Omuma while the All Progressives Congress, APC, won Akuku Toru II after the disqualification the PDP candidate, Tonye Alalibo.
The APC also won Opobo, Nkoro state constituency, bringing to two the state constituencies the party has won.
