RNDA renews call on FG to stop dealings with PANDEF, brands Clark’s group looters

A coalition of Niger Delta groups under the aegis of Reformed Niger Delta Avengers (RNDA), has renewed its call on the federal, state governments and their agencies to stop dealings of any kind on behalf of the oil region with Chief Edwin Clark-led Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF).

Insisting that PANDEF has been rejected by the people of the region and no longer represents them, RNDA described the Clark-led group as looters who stole funds meant to develop the region while functioning as former appointees and elected political office holders in the Niger Delta during Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP’s) 16 years in power.

The group further accused PANDEF of being an arm of the opposition PDP who are working to undermine the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to develop the region.

RNDA’s claims were contained in a communiqué it released weekend and signed by its leader, ‘Major’ Johnmark Ezonbi.

Part of the communiqué read, “The huge resources that accrued to the Niger Delta through the 13 per cent oil derivation funds from the Federal Government were looted by the so-called PANDEF leaders.

“Most members of PANDEF were former appointed or elected political office holders in the Niger Delta region but did not use their privileged positions to impact positively on the lives of the people or region but looted the resources of the nation with impunity.”

Clark and his group has, however, continuously claimed that the group should be ignored and has maintained that there was no such thing in the region as RNDA and its acclaimed coalition.
