Robbers in army camouflage attack bank, cart away N25m
It was a huge harvest for robbers dressed in army camouflage at the weekend as they carted away N25 million from the Ughelli branch of Union Bank Plc.
The robbers were said to have made away with the cash after blowing off the bank’s fault with dynamite.
A staff of the bank confirmed the incident, disclosing that an auditor of the bank, from the Benin regional office estimated the amount taken away to be N25 million.

He also said the branch manager and some senior staff have been arrested and taken to Asaba for interrogation.
The staff said: “The security guards were tied up while the operation lasted.
“Though they spared the ATM outside the bank premises, they used dynamite to blow up the ATM inside the bank and drilled their way through into the bank’s vault”, he revealed
