OZUBULU KILLINGS: Police probes mystery shooting, finally invites 'Bishop' for questioning

A robbery attack on a house located at Wonder City College Avenue, Afao Road, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State witnessed the chocking to death of a security guard who was stationed in the premises.

Identified as Liasu Adeoye the security guard was allegedly beaten to stupor before he was strangled when a group of armed robbers stormed the building which belongs to a couple, Olamigoke Alade and Odunayo Alade.

According to a resident, the home of the couple who luckily escaped the onslaught of the robbers as they were away in the US for holiday, was earlier vandalised before the robbers struck again killing the security guard in the process.

“Last night was hell. The security guard was strangled to death by the robbers. Luckily, Alade who is a lecturer while his wife is a public health consultant were on holidays when the robbers struck. They both own a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) where they enlighten youths in political participation and gender issues including warning people against female genital mutilation,” the resident said.

Another resident, Timilolu Ade, who suggested that the attack may be political witch-hunt said: “The attack on the Alades could be politically motivated if we try to analyse it in line with the current political crisis in the state.

Another possibility is that those gunmen might be assassins because we heard them shouting at the gateman to fish out the owners of the house. There had been constant attacks on buildings in this area, especially the house of the Alades. Maybe it is because it is very attractive. We are making efforts to petition the police on this ugly development,” he said.
