ROBBERY ATTACK: Burna Boy pleads not guilty to 2 count charge, gets N100k bail

Damini Ogulu popularly known in music circles as Burna Boy pleaded not guilty today to a two count charge of conspiracy and accessory to armed robbery of another musician, Abiye Jumbo popularly known as Mr 2kay.

The dancehall artiste who also has a criminal record in the UK was paraded before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court presided over by Chief Magistrate, Mrs Y. O Aje Afunwa for allegedly being an accessory to an armed robbery attack on Mr 2Kay at the Eko Hotel and Suites last October.

Inspector Peter Nwangwu, the prosecutor alleged that Burna Boy committed the crime with other suspects said to be on the run who got instructions from the artiste through his road manager, Joel Kantiock to teach Mr. 2Kay a lesson.

“This is in contravention of Sections 411 and 415 of the Criminal Law of Lagos 2011,” Nwangwu said.

However, the case involving Burna Boy who finally appeared in court today after earlier ignoring two court summons was adjourned till December 29th for further hearing by Mrs Y. O Aje Afunwa‎ who granted the artiste bail in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties in like sum.
