Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr says his team will prepare for Libya ahead of their doubleheader Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers same way they did for Cameroon in the World Cup qualifiers.

The national team are set to host their Libyan counterparts on Saturday before traveling to Tunisia where they will play the reverse fixture, as the race for Cameroon 2019 intensifies.

Having lost 2-0 to South Africa in their opening game and won 3-0 over Seychelles last month, the Super Eagles are sitting 3rd in the group E.

“We have to prepare for the two matches like we did against Cameroon last year,” Rohr was quoted in a tweet on the official Twitter handle of the Super Eagles.

Nigeria defeated Cameroon 4-0 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom in the first leg of the World Cup qualifiers and were held to a 1-1 draw by the Indomitable Lions in the reverse fixture of the tie.

The result would later ensure Nigeria’s qualification for Russia 2018, as the Eagles claimed the sole ticket of the group.

Rohr added: “Focus on Libya’s strong team who had a draw in South Africa and are leaders in our group.

“Two games in four days means that we have to be very fit physically and technically.”

Libya lead the group on four points, followed by South Africa with an inferior goals difference, while Seychelles rest at the bottom of the table.
