Rohr's 28-man list for Poland, Serbia friendlies to be released March 7

The media team of the Super Eagles of Nigeria have alerted the general public that players invited for the team’s friendlies against Poland and Serbia will be made known on March 7.

As the buildup games ahead of the Russia 2018 World Cup are getting closer, fans and media practitioners are somewhat eager to know the players that will represent the country.

Thus there has been speculations in some quarters suggesting various player names that the Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, is set to invite to the team.

But a statement made available via the Super Eagles’ official Twitter handle has warned Nigerians to “be wary of unnecessary media speculations.”

“The list of players invited by coach Gernot Rohr for the friendlies against Poland and Serbia in March will be officially released to the media in Abuja on March 7 at a well publicized event,” the handle wrote.

Rohr had earlier mentioned that a 28-man list will be released for the friendlies which kicks off his team’s preparation for the global showpiece in Russia.

“In the next couple of weeks we will release a list of 28 players for the friendly games against Poland and Serbia. We still have one or two players that we want to check on before coming out with the list,” he said days ago in Lagos.

Nigeria will take on Poland on March 23rd in Poland before facing Serbia on March 27th in London.
