Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice to help defending champions Real Madrid maintain their 100% record in Group H by beating Dortmund on Tuesday night.

Gareth Bale had opened the scoring with a superb volley 18 minutes into the game, before the Portuguese striker doubled their lead minutes into the second half.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled one back for the home side on 54 minutes, but Ronaldo converted from Bale’s cutback and lashed in Real’s third about 10 minutes before stoppage time.

Ronaldo’s brace on Tuesday took his tally to 109 in the Champions League.

In the group’s other game, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur thumped Apoel Nicosia of Cyprus 3-0, thanks to a hattrick by England striker Harry Kane.

Dortmund are now without a point in the group from two games, having been beaten 3-1 by Tottenham at Wembley in the opening game.

Real will be against Tottenham on matchday 3, while Dortmund will play Apoel away.
