Rapper cum fashion label owner Ruggedman has come for chairman of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), Tony Okoroji for defending the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed who was recently accused of intellectual theft by the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN).

Tony Okoroji who seemed miffed by the accusations levelled against the Minister defended the integrity of Lai Mohammed saying he is shocked that some of his colleagues are out to discredit the Creative Industry Summit.

“I am shocked by the efforts being made by some of my colleagues and friends in the name of PMAN to discredit the historic Creative Industry Summit and to drag the minister’s name into the mud,” Okoroji said in a statement issued in Abuja.

Moments after reading Okoriji’s statement, Ruggedman who is a member of PMAN called out the COSON chairman saying he shouldn’t comment on stuff he knows nothing about.

Ruggedman tweeted; “Mr Tony Okoroji u are an elder in every ramification.Going on social media to rant on an issue u know nothing about is not elder like.”

Recently, the media has been awash with claims by PMAN which tendered a five-page petition written by Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Counsel to PMAN dated July 20, 2017, accusing the Minister of plagiarizing its proposal that was presented to him under the name ‘Bar Coding Technology for the Creative Industry in Nigeria’.

In the petition, the Minister was asked to “desist forthwith from proceeding further with the implementation of action plans or any item agreed upon at the recently staged two-day conference on Creative Industry in Lagos.

Reports say that on August 5, 2016 the PMAN President, Pretty Okafor paid a visit to the minister where he handed the proposal which detailed plans on how to boost the creative industry during a presentation meeting.

Me Ruggedman, if you want to stay relevant, release more music, don’t go after the government for trying to save your ass.

A country void of a president is bound to be faced with many challenges both relevant and irrelevances. Biafra is the only one on course for now

I’m highly disappointed in Ruggedman! Due tobhis legandary status, he’s supposedly to stay out of unwarranted controversy like this. Lai is not a man he should ridicule, neither is Tony Okoroji is a man he should disrespect.

You don’t have to be to disappointed, Ruggedman lost his value in the industry already, the only thing people are considering is the fact that he’s been in the game for a long time, aside this, he’s nobody in the music industry
