RUSSIA 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP: The finalists emerge! (See full list)

The 32 nations to compete for the 21st FIFA World Cup in Russia next summer have emerged after all the qualifying games and playoffs were concluded on Wednesday.

The newest teams to seal their qualification for the global tournament are Australia, who defeated Honduras 3-1 on aggregate, and Peru, who also saw off New Zealand 2-0 in the playoffs to book their first World Cup ticket in 36 years.

Africa’s five representatives are Nigeria, Egypt, Senegal, Morocco and Tunisia. It is worthy of note that the highest an African nation have gone in the showpiece is the quarter-final stage.

Also, Germany are the defending champions after they defeated Argentina in the final of the 2014 edition in Brazil.
