RUSSIA MEDDLING: Calls grow for probe of Trump’s Inlaw Kushner

There are growing calls for a probe to be opened into whether White House adviser Jared Kushner leaked classified information to a foreign power.

Reports say the Democrats are pressing the FBI to open an investigation into whether Kushner leaked classified information to Saudi prince.

In a letter addressed to FBI Director by a group of House Democrats signed by Christopher Wray, the legislators demanded the president’s son-in-law be questioned over allegations that he gave Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman – also known as MBS – secret information.

“We request the FBI open an immediate investigation to determine if these reports are accurate and to explore the extent to which information and sources may have been compromised,” the letter said.

The call is coming as the probe by special counsel Robert Mueller into Russia’s influence on the last presidential election got hotter after an organisation belonging to President Donald Trump got subpoenaed.

According to a New York Times report, the special investigation led by Mueller into possible collusion between Russia and Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is now demanding documents related to Russia.

Reports say the demand marks the first direct requests for documents from the Trump business empire by Mueller.
