RUSSIA MEDDLING: Mueller subpoenas Trump's organisation

The probe into Russia’s influence over the last staged elections in the USA has continued to gather steam as US special counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly asked Germany’s Deutsche Bank to provide records of accounts held by President Donald Trump.

Reuters news agency and a German newspaper say a subpoena has been issued by Mr Mueller and sent to the Deutsche Bank (one of the Trump Organisation’s major lenders) two weeks ago demanding details on Trump’s transactions.

Mr Mueller is investigating claims of collusion between Trump’s aides and Russian officials while also probing Moscow’s influence in the US presidential election which brought Trump, the billionaire businessman into power.

Citing two people familiar with the meeting, CNN reported that former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn was the prime topic of the conversation between Kushner and Mueller’s team.

Kushner, who is son-in-law to Trump spoke with Mueller’s team for less than 90 minutes, the report said.
