RUSSIA MEDDLING: Trump would fight any subpoena, lawyer says

The lawyer of US President Donald Trump has informed that his client would rebuff any subpoena by a special counsel Robert Mueller investigating contacts between the 2016 Trump election campaign and Russia.

According to Trump’s counsel, Jay Sekulow, his lawyers will attempt to quash it in court, if he is subpoenaed.

“Any legal battle over whether the president can be compelled to testify could go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, the lawyer, Sekulow, said on ABC’s “This Week” show.

Sekulow also said that Trump has not decided whether he would voluntarily sit for an interview with U.S. Special Counsel Mueller, who was appointed to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election.
