RUSSIA PROBE: Trump's ex- campaign manager Manafort lied to investigators, Judge says

A US District Judge has ruled that President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort lied to Special Counsel Robert Mueller concerning a probe into Russia influence into the 2016 general elections.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson said Manafort intentionally lied to investigators and a federal grand jury in the special counsel in the Russia probe.

The District Judge also found out that there was sufficient evidence to say Manafort broke his plea agreement by lying about three of five matters that prosecutors had singled out.

Reports say the ruling spells another set back for Manafort who faces years in prison in two separate criminal cases stemming from Mueller’s investigation into a possible collusion between Moscow and the Trump campaign team.

The ruling also hurts Manafort’s chance of receiving a reduced sentence for the crimes he committed.
