Russian Lawyer who met with Trump Jr. speaks out

Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who reportedly met with Donald Trump Jr. soon after his father clinched the Republican presidential nomination last year has denied links with Kremlin.

The lawyer who was visited by Trump Jr. immediately after his dad clinched the Republican presidential nomination last year says it is “possible” that the president’s son was looking for damaging information on the Democratic Party.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with CNBC, she said; “They wanted it so badly,” she said in a segment that aired Tuesday on NBC’s “Today.” “I never knew who else would be attending the meeting. All I knew was that Mr. Donald Trump Jr. was willing to meet with me.”

Donald Trump Jr. confirmed the get-together in a statement, describing it as “a short introductory meeting” that focused mainly on the issue of child adoption. He said he also asked Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner and then-campaign manager Paul Manafort to take part in the meeting. A lawyer for Kushner said Trump’s son-in-law “briefly attended” the meeting.

Continuing, Trump Jr. said; “But it was not a campaign issue at that time and there was no follow up,” he said in the statement. “I was asked to attend the meeting by an acquaintance, but was not told the name of the person I would be meeting with beforehand.”

Recall that after the US elections, intelligence agencies concluded that Russian President Vladimir Putin had ordered hacking of Democratic political groups to discredit the election and sway the voting towards Republican Trump, who won an upset victory in November.
