Sack all indicted “wrong pegs” in your govt too, Melaye tells Buhari

Senator Dino Melaye has demanded that President Muhammadu Buhari should also sack all indicted public officials including the “wrong pegs” in his government to ensure the urgent rejig needed in the current administration.

Melaye was responding to President Buhari’s Monday sacking of the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, and the Director General, National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayodele Oke, who were separately accused of corruption.

Melaye who reacted through his twitter handle said, “Excellent move by Mr. President, though coming late. Boss Mustapha is a decent man, intellectually mobile and administratively sagacious.

“This ‘sack drug’ must extend to other indicted public officials including the wrong pegs in this government. There is urgent need for a rejig.

“We must use the less than two years remaining to fulfill our campaign promises because we are poles away from our promises.”

President Buhari had announced Mustapha, from Adamawa State, a lawyer, management consultant, politician and businessman as a replacement for the sacked Lawal.
