Sadoh emerges Edo PPA governorship candidate

Mr Thomas Sadoh has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) for Edo state after a keenly contested primary election in Benin city, the state capital.

He was announced winner by the Returning officer, Ralph Jack, who is also the PPA national youth leader.

In his welcome address at the event, chairman of the primaries planning committee chairman, Mr. Jide Ibrahim commended the state party chairman for his consistence, in ensuring that the party has been up and alive in the state, and for  being part of the major political contests in the state including the state House of Assembly, and the governorship positions

He reminded delegates from the three senatorial zones of the state that the party had provided a level playing ground for all aspirants, and therefore, the exercise was not to be a ‘do or die’ affair, adding that there will be no victor or vanquished from the exercise.

In his acceptance speech, Thomas Sadoh commended the other contestants, and promised to always carry them along, in the quest to lead Edo State to greatness.

“I thank the party’s leaders, delegates and entire members of our great party for the confidence reposed in me, to entrust me with the ticket of being the governorship candidate in Edo state. By God’s grace, I shall not betray that confidence”

He stated that his vision as Edo state governor is drawn from the seven-point agenda of the party aimed at ensuring a positively and totally transformed Edo State.

He called on the residents and people of Edo state to join the party, which he said will “surely positively impact Edo State “, adding that “together we will build an all-round developed Edo State, and thus restore the lost glory of our once pace-setting state in the Nigerian federation”.

Also speaking, chairman of the party, Hon. Dave Esokpunwu noted the rapid growth of the party in the state, in terms of spread and membership in the short time it appeared on the scheme, with impressive performances in the elections it has taken part in.
