Salah bags brace, Jesus, Morata on target as Liverpool, City, Chelsea win

Egyptian forward, Mohamed Salah found the back of the net twice as Liverpool thumped Southampton 3-0 in a Premier League encounter at Anfield on Saturday.

Salah, who currently has the highest number of goals in all competition than any other Premier League player, curled high into the net from 18 yards on the half-hour mark to put Liverpool ahead.

The Egypt international added the second with a low finish on 41 minutes, before Coutinho stab home in the second half when Roberto Firmino’s shot was saved.

The Reds now sit fifth in the table, a point behind Tottenham in fourth and above Arsenal on the same points.

At the King Power Stadium, Manchester City continue their impressive start to the season by beating their hosts, Leicester City two goals to nothing.

A 45th-minute goal by Gabriel Jesus and a 49th-minute finish by Kevin de Bruyne helped the Pep Guardiola’s side to record a 16th consecutive win in all competitions.

Premier League champions, Chelsea cruised to an easy away win over West Brom to increase the pressure on Baggies manager Tony Pulis.

Alvaro Morata scored his eighth Premier League goal of the season when he converted a rebound after Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster had parried Eden Hazard’s low shot.

Hazard made it 2-0 shortly after, before before Marcos Alonso volleyed in a third from Cesc Fabregas’ free-kick. Hazard then completed the 4-0 mauling in the second half.

In the other Premier League game, Crystal Palace were held 2-2 by their visitors, Everton, while Bournemouth and Burnley defeated Huddersfield and Swansea 4-0 and 2-0 respectively at home.
