Salah nets late winner for Liverpool at Palace

Reigning African Footballer of the Year, Mohamed Salah scored a late goal to snatch a victory for Liverpool at Crystal Palace in a Premier League encounter on Saturday.

The 84th-minute strike, which followed Sadio Mane’s equaliser, turned the table around and left Palace two points above the relegation zone.

Luka Milivojevic scored a penalty 13 minutes into the game to put the hosts ahead after Liverpool keeper Loris Karius took out Wilfried Zaha in the box.

Liverpool had plenty of chances to score in the first half but trailed at halftime, before Mane turned in James Milner’s cross shortly after the break to level.

Salah then netted his 29th Premier League goal this season when he took a touch and fired past keeper Wayne Hennessey after Andy Robertson had crossed in from the left.

The Reds leaped to second on the table with 66 points and higher goal difference – at least until third-placed Manchester United play Swansea City later on Saturday.

Liverpool’s next game will be against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League quater-finals at Anfield on Wednesday.
