Salah scores hat-trick as Liverpool maul Bournemouth ahead Napoli clash

Reigning African footballer of the year, Mohamed Salah scored three goals as Liverpool thrashed Bournemouth 4-0 in a Premier League clash on Saturday.

The Egyptian opened the scoring on 25 minutes when Roberto Firmino hit a 30-yard shot that home keeper Asmir Begovic carelessly pushed out in Salah’s direction.

He doubled the visitor’s lead just after the start of the second half with a composed finish, before adding his third of the day in the 77th minute to make it four after Steve Cook had back-heeled the ball into his own net 9 minutes earlier.

Salah becomes the first Liverpool player to score a hat-trick away from home since Luiz Suarez achieved the feat against Cardiff in March 2014.

Salah is now level with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang on the top scorers chart with ten goals in the English Premier League.

The win takes the Reds to the top of the Premier League table, pending when Manchester City play against Chelsea later on Saturday.

Also, victory at the Vitality Stadium puts the Liverpool on high spirits ahead of their vital UEFA Champions League clash with Napoli next week.

Liverpool will be playing the game of their lives when they face the Serie A giants at Anfield on Tuesday.

A good win will see them qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League, while a draw or defeat will see them crash.
