Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah will have his record-breaking boots displayed as exhibit in the British Museum – one of the world’s most prestigious museums.

The Egypt international, who moved from AS Roma in June last year, has had an impressive first season at Anfield, winning the Premier League golden boot with a record 32 goals.

His boots will be displayed among statues of Egyptian pharaohs and ancient artifacts at the museum, in the run up to Liverpool’s Champions League final match against Real Madrid on May 26.

“The boots tell a story of a modern Egyptian icon, performing in the UK, with a truly global impact,” the BBC quoted exhibit keeper Neal Spencer as saying.

“This acquisition builds on our recent project to acquire objects to tell the story of day-to-day life in 20th and 21st century Egypt.”

Salah scored 32 league goals in the Premier League – a record for a single 38-game season – and has been an influential figure in Liverpool’s progress to the Champions League final.

The 25-year old also played a key role in Egypt’s qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and is set to feature for his country in Russia next month.
