Saraki’s aide, Ugochinyere, now in DSS custody

Operatives of Department of State Service (DSS) have reportedly arrested and carted away documents of the Special Adviser to the Senate President Bukola Saraki on Youth Matters, Mr. Ikenga Ugochinyere

The DSS who stormed his Abuja office in four unmarked Hilux trucks at around 2am, were said to have done so to prevent him from leading a protest against the December 10 legislative rerun election in Rivers State.

The security operatives, it was learnt broke into Ugochinyere’s office and carted away documents, arresting him in the process.

Ugochinyere, aside being an aide to the Senate President Saraki, is also the disputed National President of National Youth Council of Nigeria.

Senate President Saraki in his reaction said though he has not been informed of the incident by the DSS, but “he will never condone any action by any of his aides that threatens the peace of any part of the country or provision of the law.”

He therefor called on the DSS to properly investigate the allegations against Ugochinyere, saying if he is found to have acted against the law, that the law should take its natural course.

As a breakaway leader of the youth wing of the All Progressives Congress, Ugochinyere has been at the centre of a leadership tussle that has pitched him against the presidency who prefer some other to him.
