Saraki’s secret talks with the generals continue as he meets Obasanjo in Abeokuta

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Monday, continued what many consider to be high-level consultations with major political players in the country, as he met with former president Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

It will be recalled that Saraki had last week Wednesday met with former head of state, Ibrahim Babangida at his Hilltop Mansion, Minna, Niger State.

He also a day later met with chairmen of 45 political parties at the National Assembly.

Details of the meetings were however not made public.

Saraki, who recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and has been under pressure to resign his position as Senate President, is believed to be eyeing the presidency come 2019.

He has however remained silent on whether or not he will join the presidential race.

OBJ, as he is fondly called, has not hidden his opposition to the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari and has said he would support any candidate he considers credible.
