There was blood letting in front of the Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia when a gunman opened fire killing two security guards and injured three others before he was shot dead by security guards.

He also informed that an investigation by the police was under way to determine his motive for the attack.

Days before the shooting, the United States Embassy in Saudi Arabia had warned US citizens to exercise caution in the area around the palace after reports on social media of an attack there.

“Due to the possibility of ongoing police activity, American citizens are advised to exercise caution when travelling through the area,” the embassy had warned.
