Saudi man who made Prophet Mohammed look-alike snowman sentenced to death

24-year-old engineering student Amir bin Said has been slammed with death penalty by a Saudi court for posting pictures of a snowman whose resemblance to prophet Mohammed caught the attention of Saudi authorities.

Said posted the pictures of the bearded snowman on social media, moments after Saudi Arabia was hit by freezing temperatures yesterday covering the desert with a powdery snow cover.

The 24-year-old accused of blasphemy and idol worshiping, crimes punishable by death according to Sharia law in Saudi Arabia.

“The accused has committed an act of blasphemy and idol worship. He has insulted God, the prophet and our religion and will pay with his life accordingly to the Law”, the Saudi court judge said.
