The family of Mayowa Ahmed have issued a statement saying that the #SaveMayowa fundraiser is real after reports revealed that Mayowa and her family may have scammed Nigerians into raising funds to the tune of $100,000 or even more to send her (Mayowa) abroad for treatment.

Mayowa’s family in the statement insisted that the fundraiser for their sick relation who has Ovarian cancer is no scam and they are truly taking her abroad, Abu Dhabi to be precise, for medical treatment.
