S’Court dismisses ex-minister Maku’s appeal against Nasarawa Gov

Nasarawa gov-elect, Abdullahi Sule, promises inclusive government

Another victory has been recorded by Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, after the Supreme Court unanimously dismissed the petition filed by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2019 general election, Mr Labaran Maku.

While delivering judgment, Justices of the Supreme Court upheld both the verdicts of the tribunal, as well as that of the Court of Appeal, affirming the victory of Gov. Sule’s election.

While reacting to the ruling of the Supreme Court, legal adviser to the governor, Mr Abubakar Imam said the judgment of the apex court brought to an end, the legal battle over the authenticity of Sule as duly elected governor of Nasarawa State, during the March 9 governorship election.

He also described the Supreme Court judgement as not only a victory for democracy but for the state and the All Progressive Congress family.
